(to be posted, am currently hashing out what everyone's starting techs will be and how far down a particular path a specialization (say, genetics, for the WH40k people so they can have their Space Marines) will put your empire.)

I have to post this.

Tech tree WILL be enforced in RolePlay events once it is done. If you violate the tech tree and suddenly have technology nobody else has, violation unless you had researched it. If someone else has it, you had to have gotten it from them. Public statement by other party that you gave it to them.

I will add it to rules.

That took longer than expected, and it's still not done. :/ However, to prove I wasn't full of it...

That is what I have at the moment, and I will expand on it shortly, assigning Research Point requirements to each tech, as well as making more techs and whatnot.

The physical manifestation of the tree is quite a wonderful thing. I'm going to make my own, seeing if I can simplify (while complicating) yours and make it more aesthetically pleasing (have any of you seen the tech-tree leaflets that they have for Age of Empires, because this sort of reminds me of that).

In the meantime, I'm going to do the tech-tree leading directly to the ZPM.


I sort of feel that this is like Age of Empires, where you advance age. I always enjoyed the concept.

I'm working on it on my own. I've added a few new categories already, and am starting to figure out what a proper research point cost looks like vs. base tech generation across all empires based on size (note: a few empires will be receiving planet-number nerfs shortly in order to make it a far more even match. I may, in fact, nerf all empires down to one or two planets depending on where the tech tree starts and how far they could conceivably spread.)

PostSubject: I have a question!   Sat Jun 14, 2014 7:35 pm

So, I was curious. Will there be any kind of aerial-based combat? Like jet fights and such? I would love to have a dogfight between two starfighters! OuO Sorry if this is the wrong place to post stuff like this. I wasn't really sure where to go...
