Technology Highlights
(High Powered Canons: Even though it may seem like primitive technology to some empires and factions they provide a lot of potential and versatility. Take for instance a standard high powered coil gun, it is a very surprisingly small compact cannon for something that packs such a punch. Also, they don't just fire plain old explosive shells some fire things like emp, thermal, and plasma. (Types of cannons involve, Railguns, Coilguns, Powder Cannons, and Sling Cannons (more about these cannons below))

Powder Cannons (PC's)

Much like the guns of the old ages, these cannons use and explosive powder that propels the projectile at high speeds. (not very fast compared to other cannons). PC's are very cheap and easy to make making them very accessible. However they are very weak often ineffective.
Sling Cannons (SC's)

SC's are slightly lower than average in cost (average being a standard coil cannon) which makes them fairly common. they don't have any drawbacks besides they are easier to damage than other cannons

(EBDW (We call them "Lighting Cannons" for short): Lighting Cannons are a mid to long range electrical discharge weapon. They only work at long range when a cosmic lighting storm is near. However this weapon is still effectively lethal at mid range. Lightning Cannons commonly produce an emp effect which often leaves the target highly vulnerable (it has also been known to cause thermal damage to the target) . Lightning Cannons can however get redirected back at the attacking ship if the target is to close. Witnesses claim that they have seen a discharge jump from missile to missile destroying them as it goes, but when the discharge reaches the target the damage is often little to none.
