Since stfuzzycat mentioned this...wow, this is awesome, think DayZ except for Minecraft.

Just made this thread in case anyone else lacked the knowledge of this awesome.

For one, zombies are way overpowered. I mean, in the base game they're too easy but you'll get absolutely molested by just one when you first spawn. That needs to be toned down a bit, I figure. Maybe decrease the damage to 3/4 of what it does now so swarms are what you want to avoid.

Secondly, I never thought a simple mod could turn everyone into an asshole. When you spawn, there is absolutely nothing of value on you, just a water bottle and a wooden sword. However, people go out of their way to slaughter anyone they see because, and I quote, "It's fun". Just like in DayZ Neutral

Perhaps I'm getting butthurt here, but the mod could do with some tweaks to maximize pleasure. It's fun as it is, but...yeah. Could be better.

Not anymore, but if you do, you can get achievements and play on the private servers, which have way less people on them.

This is true. A majority of the players are utter a**hats. However, after a day you'll learn to swing first and ask questions later.

But, between the zombies and bandits and the damned hunger bar, the game is just way hard. The longest anyone has ever lived is 3 minecraft days.

What are you guys's usernames?

To survive, you have to not kill everyone, and team with other players and go north, where there is better loot. Admittedly, it is sad how many people try to kill on sight, but most people are not out for your blood, because most of the people who go on PvP rampages die fast because other players kill them, or the player zombies get them. One thing I really hate is how fast the hunger bar goes down, its just absurd. They need to make it so you can last longer than a day without starving.

Tip: to show you are peaceful, block with your sword and crouch. If another player does this, it most likely means they won't kill you, but there are dicks out there who kill you as soon as you turn your back.

Yes, that's happened on more than one occasion.

Sorry. This is just really frustrating coming from Vanilla MC, especially with the silly deathkick.

Yeah, it is basically uber-hardcore MC. The deathkick as also really obnoxious.

This game is a perfect example of how an anarchic society would play out.

Sat down, took off all armor, and waited for people to pass through the farm, offering heals to all who came through in a Gollum like demeanor. Worked until some random guy came that just spawned and killed me for no explicit reason, really. All I was doing was shift-walking throughout the farm with no armor and no weapons, so..

:/

Necroposting.

Son, I am dissapoint.

Anyway, I quit for the same reason Tiel outlined. I just spawn and a spawncamping bastard kills me for no reason whatsoever.

Well, it's for the same reason we torch spycrabs in TF2, I'd guess. They're there, they're free kills, and spycrabs burn really nice.
