To those who may have been hiding under a rock, the first human to set foot on another world died on Friday...

...

Damnit, where's my tissues...

I didn't know that we've developed inter-planetary travel! I'm sorry, I just felt like I had to say that. But seriously, WHY THE ---- DID I NOT KNOW HE DIED UNTIL NOW?!

I think he meant "won't be the last to walk on the moon". Which he wasn't, but the spirit of the comment is valid.

His generation is the last. We need FTL and now.

I meant the man's legacy was being the first to tread the moon, surely you think this should be honored by future space programs?
Just what did you think I intended to say by that, anyway?

The last to die. Kind of sounded like you were rooting for more to die.

Are there anyone else who saw him on the first episode of Top Gear USA?
He had the fastest lap time, because it was the only one.

Neil Armstrong, Rest In Peace.
You will be missed.

I guess I'll have to note I didn't mean to hurt anyone’s feelings with my comment (even though it is what truly happened ... ) .

Though I'm sad, funnily enough, Neil Armstrong was considered a valid replacement for a nuclear bomb. The US government had a plan to nuke the moon. They figured out that this wasn't "jock kid awesome" and more "asylum crazy". So they sent Neil up there instead.
